On the move……

Our weekly folk club is on the move…..

On Monday Flash Company’s weekly folk session/sing around is at The Station Inn in Whitby – our new weekly home.

David Owen will have our book on hand so he can record and archive all of our goings on, and our regulars are very excited, and ready to raise the rafters, but we would love to see lots of new singers, musicians and merry makers.
Our sessions have been described as ‘riotous’, ‘weird’, ‘eccentric’ and ‘glorious’ – come and join us to find out it its all true!

There are lots of plans afoot at Flash Company HQ – but the first confirmed event in our diary is this – the first annual BEDLAM BALL – our very own celebration of all things folk and folklore – starting on Walpurgisnacht and ending on Mayday.

We will be crowning our own May Queen and Oak King, selected from the very finest of our costume guests.

EFDSS Folk Educators Group

On the 20th of November, David and Rebecca will be hosting the next English Folk Dance and Song Society Folk Educators Group meeting at Yorkshire Dance in central Leeds.

These meetings are always vibrant and exciting – and this will be no exception. We will be exploring engaging with young people and how to make our traditional folk arts relevant for them.

Anyone can come to the meetings contact Kerry at folkeducators@efdss.org
